Measurement

The loop

What happened to published work, written back into the store, so the next draft starts from what worked rather than from nothing.

Roadmap

What it is for

Almost every go-to-market stack produces results that land nowhere. What ranked, what converted, what a prospect actually objected to — the information exists, briefly, and then it is gone.

The loop is the part that catches it and writes it back into the store, so the next piece of work is informed by the last one rather than starting level with it.

This is not built

Being exact, because this is the component most worth being exact about: the measurement half does not exist yet. The store, the agents and the gate are running. Nothing currently closes the circle from a published outcome back into what the company knows.

That makes the compounding claim a description of an intended system rather than a report on a working one. Anyone can inspect the state of it — the repository is open and the operating log is unedited.

Why it is the hard one

Measuring is easy; attributing is not. A page that ranks and a deal that closes are separated by weeks and several people, and the honest version of this component has to be careful about what it claims to have caused.

Building it badly would be worse than not having it, because a loop that learns the wrong lesson applies it everywhere.
