Why Tobto

The scarce thing in go-to-market is no longer output. It is context and consistency — and "agentic" has come to mean almost the opposite of what makes that work.

The shift you have already noticed

AI made producing go-to-market output cheap. Anyone can generate a page, a sequence, a deck. What did not get cheaper is knowing what your company has decided — who it sells to, what it is against, which claims are approved, what actually worked last quarter.

So the constraint moved. It used to be hours. It is now context and consistency, and no amount of additional drafting capacity resolves either.

Where we disagree with the word “agentic”

As of September 2026 the term is settling around a particular meaning: autonomous systems that operate with minimal human input. Fewer people in the loop, treated as the goal.

We think that reading is wrong, and we are going to keep saying so. A system that produces public claims about your company with nobody accountable for them is not a more advanced system. It is the same system with the review removed — and the review was the part protecting you.

An agentic go-to-market system, built honestly, has more human judgment in it, placed better. People stop producing and start deciding. That is a different job, and it is the one worth keeping.

What we are not

Not an AI writer.
A drafting tool competes on seats and word counts. We think the drafting was never the bottleneck — the gap is that nothing learns from what converted.
Not an agency.
Agencies produce output and nothing accumulates. When the engagement ends, the context that made the work good leaves with them, and the next agency starts from nothing.

What this costs us to believe

Arguing with a term while the market is still deciding what it means is the slow, expensive option. It would be easier to adopt the autonomy framing, sell against it, and let the category form around somebody else’s definition.

We took the other path deliberately, and we are recording that it was a choice with a price rather than discovering it later. The visible version of that choice is the review gate — a person signs off before anything publishes, every page says so, and that is slower than the alternative on purpose.
